"The Eurekan" Event information


Race Information and Rules -
  • "The Eurekan" competition is comprised of the triathlon, 100 mile ride and 10K run.
  • To become "The Eurekan", a competitor must complete all three events in the allotted time - see below.
  • To be eligible for "The Eurekan" recognition a competitor must register in The Eurekan category
  • Each of "The Eurekan" competitors are required to have a current USA Triathlon license or purchase one event or annual USAT license in order to compete.
  • USAT License Info: Adult - $12 one event or $45 annual. Youth (17 and under) - $10 one event or $15 annual
  • When registering for "The Eurekan" on active.com, if competitors are not USA Triathlon annual license holders you will automatically be charged for either the one event or annual license fee depending on which one you choose. A competitor can apply the one event license fee to an annual membership later in the year.
  • Only one-day adult licenses may be purchased at packet pick-up.
  • Alloted times per event: Triathlon - 2 hours; 100 mile Bike - 9.5 hours; 10K Run - 2 hours.
  • All 2014 USAT rules are in effect for triathlon.
  • Event will be held rain or shine.
  • Minimum age to compete in The Eurekan is 16 years of age. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • "Race-day Basics"
    Thursday, August 7 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the host hotel. Triathlon coaches will discuss race-day preparation, nutrition, key do's and don'ts. Also on hand will be a USA Triathlon official to discuss race rules. Both will be available for questions.

  • Thursday 5pm - 9pm packet pickup / registration at Inn of the Ozarks 207 W Van Buren, Eureka Springs, AR 72632. 479-253-9768
  • Friday 9am - 11:30am packet pickup only at Inn of the Ozarks OR 1pm to 2:30pm at Holiday Island Recreation Ctr., 13 Buckskin Lane, Holiday Island AR 72631 479-253-9890
  • Transition and Staging Area Directions -
  • Friday - Triathlon at Holiday Island. Parking at Holiday Island Recreation Center - 13 Buckskin Lane, Eureka Springs, AR 72631. Noon transition area opens for racer who have picked up packets. Racers must pick up packets before entering transition.
  • Saturday - 100 Mile Ride. Staging Location - Victoria Inn - (intersection of E. Van Buren & Ridgeview Rd). The staging area is 2.5 miles east from the Hwy 23 (Hunstville Rd) / Hwy 62 intersection, which is located next to Land O Nod motel. See Google Maps link - Click here.
  • Sunday - 10K Run. Staging area at the city courthouse on Main Street/Hwy 23
  • Awards and recognition - "The Eurekan"
  • Technical fabric collared shirt embroidered with the year and "The Eurekan" logo
  • Unique, custom-designed medal
  • Male and Female with the fastest cumulative time will each receive a custom award
  • Personalized completion certificate.
  • Awards Ceremony - Eureka Springs City Auditorium
  • 11:00am - Video & Picture Recap of the weekend...YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!
  • 11:15am - Door prizes for all event participants who attend the ceremony
  • 11:30am - "The Eurekan" Recognition
  • Door Prizes, Pre & Post Race Goodies -
  • Goody bag with lots of sponsor products and services
  • Door prizes will include gift certificates, cash and lots of gear.
  • Saturday post ride celebration with adult beverages, food and snacks.
